‘A phenomenal charity’

Television presenter and actor James Lusted is an ambassador and trustee of Sports Chaplaincy UK. He told Activate why he’s so passionate about the charity...

As a sportsman myself, I am passionate about keeping healthy, both physically, mentally and spiritually. I have the same desire to help others in the sports community reach their goals and stay healthy.

I have played badminton at a national and international level, and used to compete in the Dwarf Sports Association Games and also took part in the World Dwarf Games. Even as a teenager I would be involved in sports at school. Perhaps one of my life’s greatest honours was when I was invited to be an ambassador at the Beijing Olympics. I have loved witnessing people’s lives be changed through sport, which is one of the reasons I’m involved with Warren Evans and the team at Sports Chaplaincy UK, firstly as an ambassador and now also as a trustee.

It’s a phenomenal charity to serve because in today’s society, people need support. They need someone to talk to and that someone might not always be a friend or family member. Sports chaplains offer that in a brilliant safe and confidential way.

My faith in Jesus massively drives everything I do and I hope my experience as a TV presenter and actor can help give influence and highlight the incredible work that this charity does. We appreciate your support.
